Program:  Glassmaking Program for Underserved Youth

The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass offers introductory level glassblowing and flameworking classes to students from the High School Learning Center. Up to nine students can enroll each semester, and students receive high school credit upon completion of the class.

In addition to teaching valuable skills in glassworking, these classes help students build confidence, develop team-working skills, and foster an interest in continuing education. The funding from the Triangle Fund supports this program in conjunction with the Corning Painted Post School District’s High School Learning Center.

Length of time of program, months and/or days and times:  30 hours of instruction for Fall and Spring Semesters
